Cancellation Policy and Deposit Terms

It is the aim of this practice to provide quality dental care to our patients on schedule and to use clinical time effectively. To achieve this aim we have an appointment cancellation policy.

Cancellation of an appointment by the patient:

Patients are requested to give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel a dental appointment. Cancellations should be made by telephone/email.

Independent/Private Appointments

Private dental appointments that are missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a fee of £2.00 per minute, calculated according to the scheduled duration of the appointment.

NHS Appointments

If more than two NHS dental appointments are missed, short notice cancelled, Failed to attend, Was Not Brought or “ no show “ with less than 24 hours’ notice, ranging from approximately 10 mins to 60 mins of NHS clinical time and resources will result in patients being removed from the books with immediate effect.

Hygienist Appointments

A deposit of £35.00 is required for your next hygiene appointment. In the event of a Failure to attend or cancellation at short notice, the deposit will be retained as an FTA fee and will remain non-refundable. Further appointments if made will need another deposit of £35.

It is our aim to write to patients after a missed appointment to understand the reason for nonattendance and to inform them about any fee or decision about their NHS dental care. Any appeals about missed or cancelled appointment decisions by a patient should be made in writing to the Practice Manager.

Regular Check-Ups:

For optimal oral health, patients are advised to attend a check-up every 6 to 12 months. Patients who have not attended the practice for a period exceeding two years will lose their place under the NHS at our practice and will be unable to book or attend further appointments.

Our appointment reminder system is provided as a courtesy; however, it remains the
patient’s responsibility to attend their appointments or to notify the practice in advance if they are unable to do so.
