Dr. Ketan Panwalkar

Dr. Ketan Panwalkar completed his Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) from India in 1999. He then pursued postgraduate training in Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, India. During his 2-year post-qualification study, he regularly treated nervous and medically compromised children, performing full mouth rehabilitation (including restorations, root fillings, and crowns) under sedation or general anaesthesia. After completing his studies, he practised in India for 3 years, working alongside an anaesthetist to provide sedation, gaining extensive experience and expertise in the field.

Since 2006, Dr. Panwalkar has been based in the UK, where he continued to pursue his interest in dental sedation. He completed his SAAD (Society for Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry) training in 2008-09 and a Post Graduate Certificate Course in Dental Sedation and Pain Management from University College London (UCL) in 2010-11. He has since been working both privately and within the NHS, providing intravenous sedation (IV) for nervous patients and carrying out a wide range of dental treatments, including fillings, root treatments, and other restorative procedures. In 2015, he further enhanced his skills by completing a one-year PG Certification in Dental Implants with VSS Academy London and has since been mentored in implant dentistry. Recently, in 2022/23, he completed a refresher course in Practical Implantology, placing implants under expert supervision to further refine his skills.

Since 2012-13, Dr. Panwalkar has been regularly providing sedation services on the NHS (weekly) and visiting private dental practices across Hampshire, Berkshire, and Oxfordshire. He is committed to staying updated with the latest advancements in sedation and pain control in dentistry and is accredited on the Wessex Area Team (NHS England) Dentist with Special Interest in Sedation list. He has extensive experience in assisting dentists, endodontists, and oral surgeons with operative procedures for nervous patients, helping them relax during treatment.

In addition to his expertise in sedation, Dr. Panwalkar also specializes in smile design, offering composite bonding, veneers, crowns, bridges, and implants to patients looking to enhance their smiles. He enjoys visiting various dental practices to assist with sedation cases and is passionate about providing high-quality care to his patients.

**Interests:**
Dr. Panwalkar has a deep interest in music, both Indian and Western classical, and has completed Grade 1 (ABRSM) in piano. He is an avid reader and enjoys playing tennis, golf, badminton, and squash.
